Project 1: One Step Closer!

I finished sanding the dresser & drawers today. I have to be honest, I had some help yesterday. The kids were outside playing after snack so I sat down to work on the dresser. Turns out the girls were fascinated with the whole sanding process. So I let them each have a turn. Yep, I capitalized on child labor (does it really count if they were begging to help?!). They did a pretty great job! Probably because they each stood in one place and sanded for several minutes at a time. :)

So, I finished sanding and tonight (after letting Goober watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in her room & turning on the old, but still useful baby monitor) I headed back out to the garage to start painting. Yes, painting!! The first coat is done, on the dresser at least. The drawers still needed a little time for the putty to dry, so I'll be able to paint them tomorrow. I am so excited and I really like the color. It's fun. Not a bad buy for clearance at Wal-mart, that's for sure!
